Long before Dr. Grant ever set foot in a clinic, he learned what it meant to hold someone’s life in his hands. As a Navy Corpsman deployed overseas, he was the person his Marines on the front lines trusted to be there in the worst moments — patching wounds, making split-second calls, carrying the weight of knowing that his skill could be the difference between a teammate coming home alive or not.

He didn’t just want to be good at his job. He wanted everyone around him to feel secure because he was there, so he spent his off-hours training others, determined that no one under his watch would ever be lost due to being unprepared.

Then his own body broke down. A low back injury sustained while deployed left him in a kind of pain that didn’t respond to anything he tried. For someone who had spent years being the one who fixed things, being unable to fix himself was its own quiet crisis. Surgery loomed as the last option. Reluctant and skeptical, he finally walked into a chiropractor’s office — and what happened next surprised him. The relief wasn’t just physical. For the first time in a long time, he felt like himself again. That moment instilled something he couldn’t shake: if this could give him his life back, he wanted to spend his life giving that same relief to others.

So he and his wife, Hannah, packed up everything they had and drove to Saint Louis, betting on a new mission with no guarantees. The day he graduated, he didn’t hesitate — he opened his own practice and started treating patients in the West County Saint Louis community.
